Slot Missions in Hogwarts
Slot missions can be a great way to get gear, weapons and much more. They're not easy to complete.

Concealed Weapon Slot
The concealed weapon slot allows you to bring pistols into the course of. Some players use this to aid in achieving certain goals particularly those who are going for Suit Only. Others prefer to have the additional pistol to make a gap closer. When using this slot, it's important to keep in mind that you'll need to click on the corresponding pistol category button, for instance the alternative slot 2 for machine guns, to select the appropriate category. Being able to have Major Expedition and Adept Rider active makes this much simpler to accomplish. This combo also gives you an attack tick from the concealed Weapon every 10 seconds so long as you have it placed in.
Smuggled Item Slot
The smuggled item slot is an excellent feature that allows players to bring weapons and tools, but it could be improved with a better opportunity. It's currently shaped as pistols, which makes it difficult to differentiate the smuggled item slot from other slots in the gear.
The smuggle slots can be used to store a wide variety of items - from concussion devices to explosives for weapons to more subtle concussions. These items are covertly stashed in inconspicuous places around the map, and can be recovered at any moment. The items that are smuggled are different from Agency Pickups and Hidden Stashes, which conceal only small items within the scenery or objects directly.
Mission planning is a feature that is available in episodic missions that allows players to unlock different starting locations equipment, smuggled items, and slots prior to their entry into the map. As players progress through challenges and unlock new Mission Mastery levels, these planning options increase. This allows players the ability to design the perfect mission for each difficulty.
Gear Slot
The gear slots will rapidly fill up early in the game, which will result in the frequently-repeated message "Your Gear Slots are Full". This message will prevent Max to pick new equipment until the previous items are taken away or space has been obtained. Hogwarts Legacy Merlin Trials are the answer to this issue. They give players more inventory space to complete challenging missions. Since a lot of these challenges are not completed and are scattered across the globe, it could take a while to reach the maximum number slots for inventory in the game.
Each player can have up to five different types of gear in their five Gear Slots. These are to be selected from the Gear Selection menu prior to the break-in. Rainbet (except the Pistol) takes up one Gear Slot while a set of similar items (like Grenades of the same kind) only has one Gear Slot.
Agency Pickups
As you progress through the Mission Mastery levels you unlock different agency pickups on the map. These locations let you store an item that does not fit into your concealed weapon or gear slots, and retrieve them later.
These pickups can be very useful if your mission requires you to go through a frisk or if you have a weapon with you that could cause suspicion. You are only able to hide one item at a pickup location.
This DLC includes new contracts for security and asset protection to the agency. To start these missions, simply talk to the receptionist at the agency and stock up on armor and snacks. Once you have reached the marker for your mission you can identify a crowd at the time you arrive.
